art art art

So it has taken me a little while, but I am finally internetising the professional photograph (credit: the amazing cindy laine) of my work from this year's GraduArt catalogue jaded and bitter baby-sitter, 2010.

The GraduArt exhibition opening was a success by the way - a great turn-out of people and many were impressed with my work. The exhibition at USQ features my work they looked up to him; he looked down on them, 2010 and runs until 17th December 2010. The Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery features my paper work she will go down with her ship of promises, 2010 and that show runs until 5th Dec 2010.

Don't forget to come along to the 'Cherish' opening at Artisan this Thursday night 6pm if you can make it :-)

Paper and ceramic artworks in the works

Here are a couple of my latest 2D works. I'm hoping to combine elements from these (eg. the stark similicity of Look Up and the layering and intense nature of every beginning has an end). I think working on a larger scale will hopefully make this transition easier, giving me more room to work with and allowing more visual space around the layered areas.

Above: Look Up, 2010, acrylic, enamel and spray paint on colourfix paper.
Below: every beginning has an end, 2010, acrylic, oil paint, enamel, spray paint and mineral turpentine on colourfix paper.

In terms of my ceramic work, I am making a grouping of many small pierced forms. The grouping will be complemented by a larger form on a separate shelf. This is obviously taking some time, so photos will come once I've finished the work!
